Apartment Review for Westrise Properties - Denver, CO

I found this apartment because I had to move out of my last one fairly quickly and the first manager was quite helpful. He told me that I did not have to pay a pet deposit for my pet and that my rent would be 550. This manager left shortly after I moved in and the new manager (I believe she is the current one) came. Only a month after living here, bed bugs invaded my entire apartment, which shocked me because I am a neat freak. The manager would NOT spray the apartment, so i had to do this all on my own. A few months later, my rent started going up for some "fee" that the manager said was not applied to me and that was supposed to be added. She would not provide proof whatsoever, so I never knew what I was paying. The refrigerator started making strange noises and it was never fixed. The neighbors were up at all hours of the night and the complaints were never heard. It finally started getting better towards the end of my lease, which the manager decided to take it upon herself to say that Westrise wanted to start renovations, so low and behold, my apartment was the one they picked. She gave me two weeks to move out and refused to give me another apartment or compensation for my moving expenses. She also decided that I would still have to pay a full month's rent regardless of my being there only half a month. Once I finally moved out and turned in the keys, I thought my dilemma would be over. of course, I was wrong. The manager called saying that she did not get the keys and that she had someone wanting to move in three days later, so that I needed to figure out what happened because apparently, I was the only one who had a set of keys for that specific apartment. I returned her call and told her that I had already turned them in, so in reply, the manager decided that I would have to pay for the renovations that they had claimed they were going to do anyway. DO NOT RENT HERE! They are slum lords!
