Penwood Place

Over-priced for what it is. Cleanliness is not a priority, the building is infested with tiny ants and has been for years. Maintenance is minimal, carpets and elevators are always dirty. Wear and tear damage to hallways, elevators, etc is not stayed on top of nor do they "repair as needed." Manager acts put out about anything you ask of her and she doesn't have any interest in knowing who you are. Building still owned by same owner who built it cheaply in 1973. It's deteriorating quickly. Outside of the building is not maintained at all, looks like hell especially from the back. Flashing around the roof has been flapping in the wind for years. Some parts of the building take a very long time to get hot water to the unit. There is a "it's the tentants fault" mentality if something goes wrong in your unit. They fix it but blame you. Sometimes dumpsters are all full and there will be no dumpster at the bottom of the trash chute, just a huge pile of garbage that one has to walk past when entering the building through the basement level. Health and fire violations abound on a regular basis. Serious fire in May 2006 that started in a dry sauna that needed to be maintained and wasn't. Asbestos exposure and evacuation for 2 weeks as a result of the fire. If you want a clean, well-maintained, safe and secure place to live, Penwood Place doesn't cut it. Owner just wants to collect your rent and do nothing more than necessary. Miserly and rude old man. |
