Apartment Review for Overlook Apartments - Denver, CO

This has been the WORST place I have ever lived. When my Husband and I moved in we asked them if they had ever had a problem with pests. They of course told us no. We soon found out different. Bed bugs and roaches galore. We are going to have to throw out most of our furniture now that we are moving to prevent bed bugs from coming with us. We are no the only ones. The dumpsters are always full of mattresses from other people that have been infested. The bugs are just the tip of the iceberg. We have had a leak from the fan in the bath room since the day we moved in. I had to go to the office about it multiple times before they finally sent someone up to fix it. Then they told me that they did not know where the leak was coming from and they could do nothing to fix it. Nothing says good time then getting a shower of mystery water randomly when you enter your bathroom. Speaking of water it was quite the science experiment getting to watch the black mold that grew in our bedroom close grow over the time we lived here. Again i went to the office multiple times about this problem they said that they sent someone up to fix it, but the problem never got better. I might have been able to overlook some of the flaws with the complex and office staff if the neighborhood was nice, but the total trash that the allow to move in prevents that. People are always leaving trash in the hall way, or putting cigarettes out on the wall. It is not uncommon for for there to be urine or vomit in the hallways, but one time we ever saw feces in the stairwell. Our neighbors were fantastic let me tell you, we had the police at our door one time asking if we had heard the nose of a commotion the night before where our neighbors nearly beat a man to death during a drunken drug fueled rage. Forget about feeling safe while you live here. There are security gates, but they are never locked. The building I lived in had security doors, but the one in the basement has been broken the entire time I have been here, and someone showed me that if you just pulled really hard on the security door downstairs it would come open with ease. We had some bums that were sleeping in the basement who set fire to the building one night and they had to evacuate the building. The rent seems cheap at first put don't be fooled by that. Our rent is supposed to be $600 a month but we are paying close to $750 with all the additional fees including a $50 a month premium floor fee just because we don't live on the first floor, and you have to pay for a parking space, but parking is first come first serve?!?!?! Unless you want to live in the ghetto avoid this place at all cost!!!!!
