Apartment Review
Ugh no.
Review Date: 3/10/2009 Reviewer: Anonymous
This place is filthy and dank. Layers of dirt on the old wooden floors, blinds, walls, etc. There were horribly odd smells that would come off the walls (like years of fried food and curry and other junk) that might be embedded deep under layers of uneven coats of paint. Doorhandles were wobbly and falling off on the front door. Climate control in the rooms is a joke, including the water temperature. Sometimes I would have to leave the shower running for 10-15 minutes on scald-level just to get it to work. TV had awful reception (always jumpy lines in the set) 24/7 even though there was basic cable. Appliances were old and dilapidated. Stove didn't work and constantly smelled of gas. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors getting it on much like a cheap hotel. Constant street noise and noise from the other building across the corridor. Difficult to find parking most of the time...pretty much a nightmare. On site laundry machines are pretty gross and don't really do a good job. If you want to wear clean clothes while living there better try a laundromat. Oh...and the guy who offers housekeeping will overcharge you on your move out cleanup even after confirming the cost over the phone. Don't even bother asking for the difference in your deposit because the management WILL NOT answer your messages regarding that. I was disappointed. There are several other places to stay which would be preferable even on short notice. Advice to those looking at 19th Place as a place to move - don't stop here, keep on looking! |
